Race week is one of the most comfortable times to be in Abu Dhabi: warm sunny days, mild evenings and very little rain.

What it means for race week
- Afternoons are warm and sunny. The early practice sessions run in daylight, so bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a cap.
- The race starts at sunset. Lights out is at 17:00 on Sunday, just before the sun goes down at about 5:30pm, and the race finishes under the floodlights.
- Evenings get cooler. With lows around 17°C and a breeze off the marina, a light jacket helps for the concerts and late nights.
- It can still be humid early in the month, though muggy days become less common as December goes on.
- The sea is still warm enough to swim if you have a beach day before or after the race.
What to wear
Light, breathable clothes for the day, comfortable walking shoes, and a layer for the evening. If you plan to visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, bring clothes that cover your arms and legs (see our things to do guide).
